Accounting Associate - Billing and A R

An exciting opportunity to collaborate with the Finance team in a fast paced and expanding contract pharmaceutical manufacturer. The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in providing general accounting and administrative support with primary emphasis in Billing for all CPL companies.
DUTIES:
- Respond to internal and external information requests with respect to all billing and accounts receivable matters for CPL.
- Work closely with Traffic Coordinator and Account Representatives to ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing.
- Work closely with Buyers and Account Representatives to ensure relevant chargeback invoices areas delivered in a timely manner.
- Responsible for working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; properly uses personal protection and safety equipment as required by CPL; reports any injury or illness immediately and notifies CPL of any hazards, unsafe acts or conditions in the workplace.
- Reconcile A/R and A/P Inter-company accounts between Innopharm and CPL Canada on a monthly basis.
- Process all charge back invoices and related documentation for reimbursement purposes. Ensure the account is reconciled on a monthly basis.
- On a monthly basis, reconcile various general ledger accounts.
- Invoice finished goods and services rendered by CPL.
- Collection follow up and required escalation on Accounts Receivable.
- Prepare deposit slips for customer payments received through mail for CPL Canada, CPL Niagara and Innopharm.
- Maintain the A/R and Billing filing system for CPL.
- Contributes to achieving Lean Goals and continuous improvement.
- Respond to general inquiries, projects and other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post secondary education in an accredited Accounting program or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in the areas of Billing, A/R and collections.
- Knowledge of general accounting functions and principles.
- A self-starter that thrives in a fast paced environment and requires minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with an emphasis on effective collection skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan and organize multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency using MS Excel, Word, Outlook and SAP R/3.
- Demonstrated competencies in CPL’s core values of Collaboration, Responsiveness, Commitment and Integrity.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt, respond quickly and manage change in a fast paced environment.
