Analytical Team Leader (2 positions)

Specific Responsibilities

Responsible for promoting and maintaining safe and healthy working conditions in his/her assigned work area; instructs, enforces and evaluates employees under their supervision to work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; ensures workers receive appropriate training and information necessary to conduct their activities in a safe and healthy manner.

Participates in the selection, training and development of team members.

Promotes and exemplifies the CPL culture, ensuring that employees are delivering an exceptional customer experience by demonstrating CPL’s core values (Collaboration, Responsiveness, Commitment and Integrity).

Manages and directs the staff responsible for the receipt, control and analytical testing of raw materials, in-process and finished product to ensure all testing is complete, correct and on-time.

Ensures that direct reports have adequate training, education and experience to properly perform their assigned tasks and that all tasks are performed using good scientific technique.

Ensures that all regulated activities in area of responsibility are performed and documented according to the written procedures and regulations.

Investigates failures and deviations to effectively determine root cause and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

Delivery
-
Responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of work and assignment of resources to ensure the timely completion of work and delivery of results.

Facilitates the resolution of any technical problems to mitigate any impact on the timely delivery of quality results.

Ensures all activities are coordinated with Customer Service, Data Review, Microbiology, Quality Assurance and R&D to optimize the delivery of results according to Customer’s priorities and expectations.

Value

Responsible for the efficient utilization of resources and supplies to reduce waste and achieve cost containment and Lean objectives.

Evaluates prospective analytical methods, procedures and protocols to determine technical feasibility and estimate costs for quoting.

Participates in the creation and implementation of strategies to measure and improve aspects of the laboratory operations.

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in analytical chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences.

Minimum of 2 – 3 years of directly related work experience in a pharmaceutical quality control laboratory at a senior level'

Working knowledge of current regulatory and pharmacopoeial requirements for testing of pharmaceutical materials and products

Effective leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate team members and facilitate individual work styles
