Paul Pickles PAUL PICKLES – Chief Executive Officer

Paul is one of the original members of CPL, joining in 1991 when the company had fewer than 20 employees and revenues of about $1 million. His hands-on experience in virtually every facet of the organization provides him with the unique perspective of understanding how decisions will affect the company’s ability to deliver on its promises. All functional areas of the business report to Paul.

Paul graduated from the University of Toronto with a science degree and continues to enhance his education with additional courses and programs including the Tuck School of Business Executive Program. Paul was also a contributing author to the book published in 1998 entitled “GMP Compliance, Productivity, and Quality”.

Paul was Chairman of the BoardĀ of the Non-Prescription Drug Manufacturers Association of Canada in 2006 and continues to serve on the Board's executive. He was also active on the Board of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Group for a number of years. Paul is also a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).



Ken Paige KEN PAIGE – Director

Ken Paige is a member of CPL’s Board of Directors and has been with the organization since 1997. Ken maintains an active role in the affairs of CPL, primarily in the areas of corporate development and strategic planning.

Ken is a Chartered Accountant by profession and worked with Price Waterhouse where he specialized in corporate taxation. Ken held a variety of senior management positions including President, Vice President Finance & Administration, Vice President Marketing and General Manager in a number of organizations.



Gary Tamming GARY TAMMING – Chief Financial Officer

Gary's functions as Chief Financial Officer include responsibility for Finance and Information Technology within all business units. Gary joined CPL in October 1997. Prior to CPL, Gary held similar positions in the construction and the metal cutting industries. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He supplemented his studies at Brock University and received his Chartered Accounting designation in the Province of Ontario. He articled with KPMG before beginning his career in industry in 1987. His community service includes being an active volunteer in recreational sports and having served on the finance committee of several non-profit organizations.



COLIN McCLINTOCK - Vice President - Quality

In his role as Vice President of Quality, Colin is responsible for ensuring the continued cGMP compliance of the Danbro and Niagara operations as well as driving the strategic quality initiatives for these sites.

Colin joined CPL in July of 2003.  Prior to joining CPL Colin worked at W.K. Buckley Ltd. as the Director of Scientific Affairs for 5 years, and previous to this held positions of increasing responsibility in Quality management for Boehringer Ingelheim Canada Ltd.  Colin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Toronto.

 

Andrew Crerar

JAN SAHAI – Vice President, Business Development

In his role as Vice President, Business Development, Jan is responsible for developing new business opportunities for all the CPL sites, as well as participating in the formulation and implementation of strategic plans, coordinating CPL marketing activities and building strong business relationships with new and existing clients.

Jan joined CPL in September 2005. Prior to joining CPL, Jan worked at GSK where he held progressively senior roles in sales (National Sales Manager, Specialty products), marketing (Marketing Director, CNS) and Corporate Communications. Additionally, Jan was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of the Clinical Investigation Unit at the University of Ottawa School of Medicine from 1989 to 1996.

Jan holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, a post-doctorate research fellowship from the Medical College of Virginia and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario.



John Ross JOHN ROSS – General Manager, Niagara Operations

John’s responsibility encompasses the day-to-day operations of the Buffalo facility to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing of drug products in a cGMP compliant environment while meeting CPL Niagara growth objectives and strategic priorities.

John joined CPL in April 2000. He most recently lead CPL Canada's sales, marketing, technology transfer, customer service, planning and materials management functions as the Vice President of Business Development and Customer Service.

John holds a B.Sc. degree and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario (London). Prior to CPL, John worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in management consulting focused on supply chain optimization for consumer and industrial products companies. Additionally, John worked for Eli Lilly Inc in sales, finance and strategic planning.



Brent Matthews BRENT MATTHEWS – General Manager, Innopharm

Brent’s functions as General Manager include responsibility for the day-to-day operations for CPL’s analytical testing division, Innopharm, as well as participating in the formation and implementation of strategic plans, developing and controlling the site budget, liaising with customers concerning operational matters and enhancing operational performance.

Brent joined CPL in September 2004. Prior to joining CPL, Brent worked at Biovail Contract Research as the Director of their Bioanalytical Laboratory at their Scarborough, Ontario facility. Additionally, Brent worked for Novopharm Limited, where he held several positions including Senior Manager R&D Compliance and Laboratory Manager. Brent holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the University of Waterloo.
