Maintenance Mechanics

Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment for the packaging of various products into different formats.
  • Perform mechanical & electrical repairs to equipment when necessary.
  • Perform appropriate Preventative Maintenance work on equipment as per schedule.
  • Train Operators on equipment adjustments during production runs.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Assist in development of production process validation data.
  • Perform building repairs when required.
  • Responsible for working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; properly uses personal protection and safety equipment as required by CPL , reports any injury or illness immediately and notifies CPL of any hazards, unsafe acts or conditions in the workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Two year degree or certificate program in Mechanical or Electrical technologies preferred.
  • Minimum 2nd Class Stationary Engineer license for the City of Buffalo. Must be willing to achieve first class license in a reasonable time frame.
  • 4 years minimum electrical / mechanical experience in an industrial setting.
  • Computer proficient.
  • A background in machine shop practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, power transmission and pneumatics a must.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions/Environment

  • Confined space entry may be required.
  • Heavy lifting required.
  • Willing to work a non traditional shift, overtime and change shifts if needed.
